Tutor Connection
was created after more than ten years of work in the specialized tutoring
industry by our founding partners, Dawn and
Husband and wife, Dawn and Matt worked side-by-side for one of the largest
tutoring companies in the world, successfully becoming a model operational team
for the franchise, and a recognized national resource for their peers. Dawn's
lifelong background in education and Matt's business savvy, plus a real
understanding of their clients' needs translated to flawless annual reviews,
franchise awards, and, most importantly, significant academic success for their
students, as they operated the most successful tutoring company in the area,
measured by student enrollment as well as earnings, repeat business, and proven
academic growth.
However, with the recent downturn in the economy, the ownership group that
controlled the franchised locations operated by Dawn and Matt were forced to
close the doors. Fortunately, several of their students contacted them after
the closure and requested that they keep on tutoring!
“We were incredibly grateful for the support of our students,” said Dawn in a
recent discussion, “and the thought occurred to us-why couldn’t we keep going,
but do it our way?” So Tutor Connection came to life.
Parents themselves, the Glicks created the tutoring environment they would want
to bring their own children to. Bringing ten years’ tutoring experience each to
the table, in virtually all academic support environments from SAT to IEP and
everything in between, they set out to prove that quality, individual tutoring
doesn’t need to be incredibly expensive, or rigidly controlled to generate a
huge profit in order to pay advertising costs. By scaling back to the necessities, and ASKING parents what they
wanted to see from their tutoring investment, TutorConnection is succeeding in
bringing our founders’ vision to reality-a flexible, affordable, high-quality
educational resource for families to help their students maximize their
academic potential.
